Angelique Ibrahim #FounderOfTheFortnight
Whether from an individual style point of view or you are conscious of the 300,000 tonnes (2016) of clothing that gets sent landfill every year; Vintage Clothing is EVERYTHING.
Angelique Ibrahim is the founder of London Army Apparel, an exciting online shop and pop-up selling vintage army apparel. Her latest pop-up will be held 15th June at 196 Oxford Street.
Tell us about London Army Apparel, what do you enjoy most about it?
Hello, My name is Angelique and I'm the founder of London Army Apparel, a shop that sells
vintage Army Clothing. We sell online on londonarmyapparel.com and we will have a special one-
day Pop-up shop June 15th at Oxford Street, London with the support of HSBC bank.
What challenges do you face regularly? How do you overcome them?
The biggest challenge I face daily is time management. When you are in a startup there is always
101 things to do every day and the list always increases! The way I overcome it is by trying to align
my focus on what is necessary for the brand in the long-term.
The team is also increasing. Chelsea School of Arts graduate Ollie has joined the brand. He will be
leading on the social media. He really believes in London Army Apparels ethos and what it will
There have been a few people who have approached me to say that they would like to get involved
with London Army Apparel that is great. If anyone has an idea for a collab or something they can
DM London Army Apparel Instagram, or contact us through the website.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
The brand is quite young so I think there is still a lot to achieve. I think the highlight so far is will be
the Pop-up shop this June 15th at Oxford Street. The business was hand picked by HSBC which is
just amazing. The business managers who are organising the one-day event like the brand and
support it that is so encouraging.
What’s the best and worst advice you have been given?
The worst piece of advice is to spend too much money on things that you can go without,
especially in the early stages. You can accomplish a lot by boot-strapping and you’ll to be more
creative in your problem-solving.
Best piece of advice- if you need something don't be afraid to ask for it. If you are doing something
authentic and exciting a lot of people will want to contribute.
What's next for you? Do you have any unfulfilled ambitions?
The next big thing will be our exclusive Oxford Street pop up shop. It will be for one day only and
will offer people a chance to try on the clothes and experience the brand. It will be at 96 Oxford
Street, London on June 15th. London Army apparel's social media will also be more active.
What are your influences for your creativity?
Generally the people around me. I am surrounded by a lot of beautiful musicians and artists.
Do you have Favourite designers?
Burberry & Yves Saint Laurent
